The powerboat section of DRBC is focussed on RC petrol powered powerboats.

The classes currently running include:

1. Stock Monohull – 26cc Zenoah motors

2. Stock Offshore Catamaran – 26cc Zenaoh motors

3. Modified Monohull – any single cylinder 2 stroke up to 35cc – no nitro

4. Modified Offshore Catamaran - any single cylinder 2 stroke up to 35cc – no nitro

5. Formula 1 – must be a F1 hull - any single cylinder 2 stroke up to 35cc – no nitro

6. 7.5cc F1 – max 7.5cc with free nitro methane fuel mix

Electric boats welcome to have a run and happy to include if the class grows.

The powerboats run every Saturday morning from about 08h00 till 11h00 – come and test, have a run, get faster.

Race day is the FIRST SATURDAY of each month from 08h00 till 13h00 to compete for the DRBC annual championship.

Race calendar runs from February till November

Our race course is in the shape of a M with 5 bouys determining the course

Currently lap times around 16sec with Stock boats at approx. 65km/h and modified boat closer to 80km/h – things happen quickly.
